Terms of service
Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of synajewellery.com.au and any purchase or commission made through it. By using this site you accept them.
Syna Jewellery is a sole proprietorship trading in Queensland, Australia. ABN 81 102 560 121.
1. Who we are
Syna Jewellery :Ridley Road, Bridgeman Downs QLD 4035, Australia info@synajewellery.com.au · 0432 117 880
We operate from a workshop by appointment. We are not a walk-in retail showroom.
2. Using this site
You may use this site to browse our work, enquire about commissions, and buy available pieces. You may not use it unlawfully, attempt to interfere with its operation, or copy its contents for commercial purposes.
You must be at least 18 to place an order.
3. Products and pricing
We photograph our work as accurately as we can, but screens vary and natural stones vary. Colour, inclusions and figure differ between individual gemstones. Where a piece is one of a kind, what you see is that specific piece.
Prices are in Australian Dollars and include GST where applicable. Prices for commissions are quoted individually and depend on metal, stones and complexity. Metal and stone prices move, so a quote is valid for [30] days unless we say otherwise in writing.
We may correct pricing errors. If an error affects an order you have placed, we will contact you and you may proceed at the corrected price or cancel for a full refund.
4. Orders
An order is accepted when we confirm it in writing, not when payment is submitted. We may decline an order — for example where we cannot source the stones specified, where the request falls outside what we can make to our standard, or where we cannot verify payment.
5. Bespoke commissions
Commissions follow a set process: consultation, quote, deposit, design, approval, making, and collection or dispatch.
You approve the design before work begins. Once approved, changes may affect price and timeline and we will requote before proceeding. Timelines given are estimates made in good faith — stone sourcing and hallmarking are not always within our control, and we will keep you informed if a date moves.
Deposit and cancellation terms are set out in our Return and Refund Policy.
6. Repairs, restoration and valuation
Items left with us for repair, restoration or valuation remain your property. We insure items in our care to the value we assess or that you declare, whichever we agree in writing.
Where an item is left with us and not collected within [6] months of us notifying you that it is ready, and we have been unable to reach you using the contact details you supplied, we may deal with the item in accordance with the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act 1967 (Qld).
We will always attempt to contact you first, more than once.
7. Secured loans
Our secured loan service is a separate regulated service and is governed by its own loan agreement, which we provide before any loan is made. Those terms prevail over these ones for anything relating to a loan. Nothing on this website is an offer of credit.
8. Consignment
Consignment arrangements are governed by a separate written agreement covering valuation, reserve price, commission rate, duration and insurance. Ask us for it before consigning.
9. Payment
We accept the payment methods shown at checkout. Ownership of a piece passes to you when payment clears in full. Risk passes on delivery.
10. Intellectual property
Everything on this site — photographs, designs, CAD files, text — is owned by Syna Jewellery and protected by copyright. Designs we create for a commission remain our intellectual property. You own the finished piece; you do not acquire the right to have the design reproduced by someone else.
You may not reproduce our photographs or designs without written permission.
11. Liability
We do not exclude anything that cannot lawfully be excluded, including the Australian Consumer Law guarantees.
Beyond those guarantees, our liability for any claim relating to a piece is limited, at our option, to repairing it, replacing it, or refunding what you paid for it.
We are not liable for loss arising from ordinary wear, accidental damage, improper storage, exposure to chemicals, or alteration or repair by another jeweller.
12. Privacy
We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Disputes are subject to the courts of Queensland.
14. Changes
We may update these terms. The version published at the time of your order applies to that order.
